Chris Froome

Christopher Clive Froome is a British road racing cyclist who currently rides for Israel Start-Up Nation. He has won seven Grand Tours, including four editions of the Tour de France (2013, 2015, 2016 and 2017), one Giro d’Italia (2018) and the Vuelta a España twice (2011 and 2017), plus several other stage races. Chris also won two Olympic Bronze medals in road time trials, in 2012 and 2016, and took Bronze in the 2017 World Championships. Chris dedicated his 2013 Tour de France win to his mother, who died of cancer 5 weeks before his Tour debut in 2008. Chris was born in Kenya to British parents and grew up there and in South Africa. In 2008, Chris turned professional with the Barloworld Italian Team. The same year he moved to Italy and started to ride under a British license. In 2010 he moved to Team Sky and has since become one of the team’s key cyclists. He’s been a resident in Monaco since 2011. In 2019 Chris couldn’t participate in the Tour de France due to injuries from a high-speed crash into a wall while training. Months later he resumed back to training and currently rides for Israel – Premier tech.
In the video below Chris explains how he dealt with the big crash he suffered in 2019.
