Steven Kitshoff

Steven Kitshoff is a South African rugby player. The World Class DHL Stormers and Springboks loosehead prop has developed into one of the most powerful carriers and scrummagers of his generation. The 120-kilogram behemoth has won 47 caps for his country, as well as won the Rugby Championship and the World Cup in a ground-breaking season in 2019. Steven first broke through during the 2011 season while still being a teenager. He became a regular player in the 2012 season for the Stormers and Western Province. He was also a member of the South Africa Under-20 team that won the 2012 IRB Junior World Championship. His 2013 Super Rugby campaign was solid and he won a second consecutive Currie Cup final with the Western Province team. 2014 was a year of frustration as he succumbed to a season-ending injury towards the end of the Super Rugby season, which ruled him out of Western Province’s successful Currie Cup campaign in which they lifted the title for the second time in 3 years with a narrow win over the Golden Lions at Newlands Stadium in Cape Town. Steven made his debut for the Springboks in 2016 and was named in South Africa’s squad for the 2019 Rugby World Cup. South Africa went on to win the tournament, defeating England in the final.
In the video below Steven speaks about the gender-based violence during the Rugby World Cup in 2019.
